Janice Marie (Vitaniemi) Bonebrake

Janice Marie Vitaniemi Bonebrake, 87, of Clinton passed on Tuesday April 9, 2024, at her home. She was born in Clinton, Indiana on February 8, 1937, to William Vitaniemi and Ann (Secoy) Vitaniemi.

Those preceding Janice in death are her parents; brother’s Bill Vitaniemi Jr., George Vitaniemi, Albert Vitaniemi and David Vitaniemi; sister Diane Vitaniemi Silotto and grandson Justin Buker.

Janice was a Clinton High School graduate Class of 1956. She married her husband Merrill Bonebrake on June 20, 1959, enjoying over 60 years of marriage and many adventures. Janice had many things she loved to do. Working puzzles, gardening, birdwatching, and traveling just to name a few. Janice and Merrill owned/operated the Dairy Queen on Wabash Avenue in Terre Haute for 38 years and took such immense pride in it. She loved her family beyond measure and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mom loved to give. She would make sure everyone around her had what they needed and desired. She loved family, babies, singing to the kids in the morning, good cooking, doing puzzles and getting her hair done with some added gossip. She would give everything she could to make sure everyone else felt comfortable before herself. We love you mom/grandma!

Janice is survived by her husband Merrill Bonebrake of Clinton; son Timothy Bonebrake of Clinton; daughters Lynn Sneeden (Richard) of Clinton, Angela Buker (Richard) of Clinton; sister Darlene Hoggatt; grandchildren Aaron Buker (Ashton Pellegrini), Brittany Buffo (Domenic), Andrew Sneeden (Becca), Hope Sneeden; great-grandchildren Deider Buffo,  Ledger Buffo, Kamden Buker,  Kinslee Buker, Max Hannig, Nate Sneeden, Saylor Sneeden, Amelia Pellegrini, Greg Pellegrini, several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home on Sunday April 14, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Service will be at Frist Funeral Home on Monday April 15, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Helt’s Prairie Cemetery in Hillsdale.
