James Lee Brown – July 29, 1947 – March 3, 2020

Former Milwaukee Railroad and Soo Line Conductor, James Lee Brown, 72, of Clinton, heard life’s train whistle call, boarded the locomotive one last time, and left us behind on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
He was born July 29, 1947, in Clinton, son of Lee Walker and Faye Ernestine Brown.
James met his wife of 48 years, Marlene Sanquenetti Brown on a DeMolay hayride while he was attending Clinton High School. They married seven years later on May 28, 1972.
He was a member of Wayside Methodist Church, but attended the First Christian Church with his wife. James was also a member of the Freemasons.
James spent the best moments of this life “on the road” traveling with his wife and daughter, from Beaver Dam, W.I. to Luebeck, Germany. Some of his favorite activities were: taking photos in National Parks, attending World of Outlaw races (or any race) and watching hockey – especially the St. Louis Blues.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Brown of Clinton; a daughter, Kelly (Tony) Veneziano of Indianapolis; a sister, Leeanna (Martin) Burke of Hyattsville M.D.; three nephews, John (Anika) Burke of Greenbelt, M.D., Owen (Tonya) Burke of Upper Marlboro, M.D. and Jeff (Martha) Sanquenetti of Fishers; one niece, Peg (Jim) Abraham of Indianapolis; and many great nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m Saturday March 7. at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton. Memorial service and burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory can be made to The American Heart Association, Parke-Vermillion County Humane Society, or the First Christian Church of Clinton.
