Mary Louise Strole, 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Paris Healthcare Center in Paris, IL.  She was born April 22, 1935 in Clinton, IN to Harry and Angeline (Ladiha) Crossley.  She married Dale Harold Strole in 1955 and was a devoted wife for many years until he proceeded her in death in 1990.  
Survivors include two children; Sheri (Greg) Henson, Paris, IL and Steven (Patty) Strole, West Terre Haute, IN, grandchildren; Holly (Andy) Goodwin, Heather (Michael) Dunn, Stacey (David) Hamrick, Cory Strole, Megan (Dustin) Lawn, and Dale Strole, and, great-grandchildren; Nathan Goodwin, Sean Dunn, Braden, Bailey, and Briar Hamrick, Rylie, Charlie, and Case Strole, Noah Strole, and Linkoln Lawn, brothers; Frank Crossley and Harry (Butch)(Sue) Crossley, sister; Veda Yowell, and several in-laws, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.  Mary was proceeded in death by sisters Dorothy Hale, Freda Crawford, and Colleen McClam and in-laws, and one grandson Travis Auterson.
Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, and hard worker who instilled great work ethic, family values, and compassion to all she met.  Not only did she work hard hauling grain to the elevators and driving tractors as a farmer’s wife for many years, but she was also a former Indiana Bell Telephone Employee and caretaker to others.  Organizations she was involved with included Daughters of the Nile, Vigo County and Fayette Township Farm Bureau, Zorah Shrine, Morris Chapter #86 Eastern Stars, Lion’s Club, Post Pet & Hobby Leader, and member of the Fairview Methodist Church, while later in life attending Lake Ridge Christian Church in Paris.  She graduated from Clinton High School in 1953.  
Mary enjoyed the Farm Bureau trips she and Dale were able to take, especially to Hawaii after years of serving as the wife of a soldier, playing cards and Bingo, and cooking, but, most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a kind positive woman who had a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
Due to COVID-19, private services for immediate family only will be conducted Friday, May 22, 2020 at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton, IN.  Memorial contributions can be made to New Goshen Indiana Lions Club, Zorah Shrine Children’s Hospital Fund or Christmas for Kids in Paris, IL.
