Harold “Harry” Rieches, 90, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 after an extended illness.
He was born in Cissna Park, Ill. on June 14, 1930 to Herman and Ella Shoemarker Rieches.
Harry was a Korean War veteran with the US Army. He was a CPA and previously owned the Dog ‘N Suds in Clinton.
He was a former board member and Past President of the Vermillion County Hospital Board of Trustees; a Treasurer of the Collett Home; Past Treasurer of Clinton Chamber of Commerce; Past Treasurer of Lift; and Past President of the Clinton Jaycees. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He spent winters in Green Valley Arizona and he had traveled the world.
Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 sons, Ray and Brian Rieches; a daughter, Jeanie; and a sister Gladys Rink of Henderson, Nev.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Rieches; a daughter, Sue Ann (Darrell) Cooperrider of Tarpin Springs, Fl.; a sister, Aldine Rittenauer of Lafayette; 2 grandchildren, Jordan and Sean Cooperrider; a brother-in-law, Mike Wirz of Brownstown, IL.; and many good friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 1 to 2 pm at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home with Celebrant Marta Adubato officiating.
Cremation was chosen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that if desired, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
