The family of Jack Mishler, Sr. is sad to announce the passing of their beloved husband and father on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Jack was born on December 29, 1940 in Brazil, Indiana to Hulet and Helen (Stoops) Mishler. Jack graduated from Brazil High School in 1958 and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Business from Indiana State University in1976 while working at Sears. On May 27, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Jean Shepard. Jack served in the United States Air Force from 1958 – 1967. Upon his completion of service, Jack joined the State Farm Insurance family where he has been an agent for the past forty years. Throughout his years, Jack served as LIFT President and President of the Clinton Optimist Club. Jack was a devoted husband and father, dedicating his life to providing his family with unconditional love and support. Jack was well-known for his generosity, kind-heart and willingness to go above and beyond for his family, friends, and clients. Jack prided himself in his love of Eagles, often sharing his catch phrase, “Fly with the eagles - don’t walk with the turkeys.”
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Bonnie (Shepard); four children; Jackie Raymond Mishler, Jr. (MaryBeth), Jeri Lynne Franks (Rick), Jana Jayne Mishler (Rodney), and Justin Curtis Lowry (Brittany). Jack had seven grandchildren; Kiera Renee Mishler, Makayla L. Goldner, Matthew R. Mishler, Ryan C. Mishler, Jason A. Mishler, Lauren N. Mishler, and Jazarian M. Mishler-Vinson. Jack was blessed with one great grandchild, Lucas H. Lowry.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rosemary Shepard (Robert) and brother, James Mishler.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 with visitation from 11am-2pm at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman Street, Clinton, IN with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetary, 7500 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute, IN.
