Luellen “Cookie” Mitchell, 82, passed into her heaven home on April 4, 2018.  With faith as her guide, she knew the way, as she walked again, pain free, through the gates of Heaven.
She entered this world, the daughter of Robert Henry and Iva Mae (Lacy) Cummins, of Tecumseh, IN on September 14, 1935.  She married Duane Buntain and they had three children, Randall and Rhonda Buntain of Clinton, Roddy Buntain and Sandra of Bairdstown, KY, and Rita and Brian O’Rourke of Clinton.
Luellen’s greatest joy was her family.  She had beloved grandsons, Adam Buntain and Eric Buntain.  She also had very cherished great-grandchildren, Jacob Buntain, Erica Buntain, Caine Buntain, Cameron Buntain and her newest loved, great-great grandson, Maddux.
Also surviving are brothers, Joseph Cummins and Charles and Carol Cummins; one sister, Katy Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  They all had a place in her heart.
Luellen was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband, William Mitchell; sister, Mary Doris Vaira and her husband, Joe Vaira; a brother, Johnny Cummins and his wife, Madeline Cummins; brother-in-law, Goose Bailey; sister-in-law, Beverly Cummins; daughter-in-law, Mary E. Buntain; and nephews, Benny Vaira and John Bryan Cummins.
Luellen held many jobs in her lifetime, but her most important title was “Mamaw” and raising of her great-grandchildren, Erica, Caine, and Cameron Buntain
She loved to sing and pass that talent onto her Erica, who sings like an angel.  Caine thought he was the man of the house and was a great help to her.  Luellen was also the loudest cheerleader for Cameron, who runs track and cross country and plays basketball for South Vermillion Middle School.  They were her total joy in life.
Luellen was a member of the State Line Christian Church and considered everyone there her church family.  She was happiest there on church Sundays.  Special thanks, goes out to her senior minister, John Puckett and Sally, youth minister, Ben Hannum and Holly, elders, Butch Denney and Pam, Jesse James and Judy, Steve Lane and Stacy, Ray Willsey and Carol, and all the members of State Line Church for their prayers and the many trips to bring her her communion, throughout her illness.  It meant so much to her and she loved you all.  Luellen will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Visitation will be 11-1 on Tuesday, April 10, at Frist Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 1 PM with Reverend John Puckett and Reverend Ben Hannum officiating.  Burial will follow in Shirley Cemetery.
