Barbara Lee (Stull) Kautz, was born at home in Richwood, West Virginia to Curtis and Olive (Nicholson) Stull on July 16, 1931.  She married William W. (Bill) Kautz in Nitro, West Virginia on May 29, 1953.  They were married 56 years when he passed away in 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her parents.
In the beginning Barbara and Bill didn’t  have a lot, but they worked hard, took some chances, and built a solid future for themselves and their three children.  After Bill’s military service they moved around and finally settled in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Barbara was a full time stay at home mom along with managing the rental properties they owned.  She did so with a lot of hard work and ingenuity.  She also was an avid gardener with a true green thumb always happiest working outside among her flowers.  If you listened closely you would hear her humming or singing a tune.  Sometimes old hymns and other times something from her favorite singer, John Denver.
As the kids grew up and moved into their own homes, Barbara and Bill found more time to travel.  They toured the United States and many countries always coming home with funny stories to share, especially if they had been traveling in their RV.  They also had their dream home built near Dana, Indiana doing most of the finish work themselves.
Barbara was a generous and kind hearted soul and will be truly missed by all of those who loved her.
Barbara is survived by her children, William A. (Caron) Kautz of Dana, Indiana, Pamela Kautz of Elletsville, Indiana, and Brian (Marie) Kautz of Bloomington, Indiana; her 5 granddaughters, Amanda Kautz, Sarah (Dan) Myers, Anna McGrew, Adeline Kautz, and Hannah Kautz; 2 great-grandchildren, Lily and Daniel Myers; her sister, Phyllis McClanahan of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; her brother, David (Terri) Stull of Hurricane, West Virginia ;and her nephews, Larry (Shirley) McClanahan of Barboursville, West Virginia, Rodney McClanahan of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, and David Stull of Florida.
Barbara’s request was for there to be no funeral.  She will be laid to rest next to Bill in a private family ceremony at the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in honor of Barbara to the Salem United Methodist Church, 3456 E  1050 S, Hillsdale, In 47854.
