Norm, known by many as “The Legend”, born in Clinton, IN on May 7, 1957 to Norman Matthew Cottrell (Deceased) and Ruth (Nagy) Cottrell passed away on September 22, 2018 with his loved ones by his side.
He was preceded in death by his father—Norman Cottrell, step-father Roy Kelley, grandparents Sherman and Audrey Cottrell and Gabor and Elsie Nagy, sister-in-law Lesli Cottrell, nephew Matthew Allen Cottrell, great-nephew Hunter Pinion, and several aunts, uncles and cousins as well.
Norman is survived by his mother Ruth (Nagy-Cottrell) Kelley;  daughter Summer (Matt) Koenig and their beautiful daughters, Chelsea, Mattason, Sarah, Sophi, and Colbi; and daughter Katrina and her daughters Nasaray and Lillyonna,; along with the daughter of his heart Harmony Gibbons and her children, Cailee, Llayton, and Chelton; and their children (his great-grandchildren) as well.  Also surviving, Norman’s siblings, Georgetta (Ed) Mancourt, Tim Cottrell, Carl (Tanya) Cottrell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews that were dear to his heart.
Norman had a love for all things nature, “God’s creations”, as he often said.  He loved to deer hunt, mushroom hunt, and fish when he was able to do so.  He often had a sports game on at his home and loved to cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was a loving soul and will be missed by all that knew him.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, September 26 from 4 to 6 pm at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton IN with service to follow with Pastor Shaun Farley officiating and cremation to follow that.

Sorry to hear of his passing. Norman was a good guy. He helped me when I had no place for myself and my Rotty Angel to live, for a short time and I was very appreciative. God speed Norman. I'm glad we were friends. 💓
