Arkie Oaks, Sr., of Clinton, died November 4, 2018, at his residence. He was born February 5, 1936, in Tilden, IL, to Charles H. Oaks and Ruth Clines Oaks.

He was self-employed at  A Oaks Septic Tank Services and also layed asphalt.  He was a member of the Rosedale Masonic Lodge.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, infant sister, Lilly Mae; Tillie Cardin, Ollie Collins, Betty Dilsavor, Tessie Cardin, and Vickie Frazier; one brother, Wallace Oaks, Sr; and several nephews and one niece.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Rizer Oaks; one son, Arkie Oaks, Jr. and Tammy; two daughters, Tina and David Cotten and Shelley and Donnie Craft; two brothers, Jack and Georgia Oaks and Charles "Newt" Oaks; two sisters, Susie and David Merritt and Wozzie and Mike Mallon; 10 grandchildren, Kristina Oaks and Ray, Rickey Cotten and Hana, Mickey and Jinger Cotten, Trever Klyaic, Olivia Oaks and Brian Gossett, Abbie Reyes and Gustavo, Hayley Carroll, Bailey Craft and Michael Pearman, Shayna Craft, and Dallas Craft; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 9 at Frist Funeral Home from 4-8 PM.   Funeral services will be Saturday, November 10 at 2 PM, at Frist Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Yocum officiating.  Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.fristfuneralhome.com.
