First Funeral Home
Willadean Dowell, 91, of Shepardsville, went to her heavenly home on March 20, 2019.  She had been cared for in her home by various family members and Southern Care Hospice for the last several months.  She spent the days surrounded by family and friends, who showered her with love and support.
She was born on February 5, 1928. She was the third child of Carl. F. Brockmeier and Linnie (White) Brockmeier, and they preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William (Bill) Dowell, who died on October 21, 2014; five siblings, Betty, Lee, Chuck, Les, and Shirley; and four children, Linnie Lou, William R. (Randy), Tim, and Paul.
Willadean was a current member of Trinity Church and lived according to her Christian beliefs.  She was an accomplished seamstress and worked at it from her preteen years until a few years ago, when she was slowed by health issues.  We all cherish the items Mom sewed for us throughout the years.
Willadean is survived by four children, Cassie (Kent) Cook, Dee (Larry) Tackett, Rick (Sue) Dowell, and Skyra Edington; a brother, Fred (Sharon) Brockmeier; over 100 combined grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.  She will be sadly missed by all of us who loved her.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM on Friday at Frist Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at Frist Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.fristfuneralhome.com.

Trina and family, we are very sorry for your loss. We pray that the smiles, laughter, and warmth her memories bring will far outweigh the sadness, tears, and pain. We are sure you are resting on the scripture that begins "we have this hope...."

Cassie, Dee Dee, Rick, and Skyra,

My sister Barb notified me of Aunt Willadean’s passing just last night, and MaryAnn and I are beyond heartbroken, yet will always cherish the memories of this remarkable, beautiful, sweet soul forever. When last we spoke earlier this year, she reminisced about the old days and the wonderful times shared with my mother. We always talked of family, laughing at the many crazy experiences witnessed over the years, and of course the many funny stories involving Uncle Bill. We cherished her laugh, endearing charm, gracious hospitality, and most of all, her everlasting love. Through this heartache, the one positive is that she is reunited with those who she so dearly loved and missed, and that does provide some form of solace. Yet, it is with a heavy heart that those of us who carry on live with the burden of loss and suffering. A verse from the bible which beautifully depicts our beautiful aunt is: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” ~ Psalm 116:15 She was truly a saint who devoted her life to the Lord and her family…God bless her spirit and fill your hearts with hope and strength. With great love and sympathy, Tom and MaryAnn Scott
