Beulah Anne (Jones) McDonald, 100, of Clinton, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday morning. She was born on May 25, 1919 in Lyford, a daughter of Jesse Jones and Lottie Lister. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Lawrence McDonald Jr. and son, Thomas III who died in 1977.
She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Solomon (Robert), Marla Iacoli (Terry) and Marlene Szczesniak (Tom), one living sibling, Lois Jean and two sisters-in-law, Bette and Wilma Jones. She was passionate and proud of her 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
She worked various jobs prior to and during World War II and retired from Columbia Broadcasting System after 24 years. She was a Girl Scout Leader when her children were young, a charter member and volunteer of the Clinton YWCA Lunch Bunch and a member of the Wakofe Club. She was a charter member of the hospital guild, on the Board of Directors, served as Canteen Chairman and volunteered over 10,000 hours. She dedicated her life to helping others and in service to her Lord and Savior.
She will be remembered for her stubborn independence, love for family and faith, and instead of good-bye, for saying, “I’ll see ya when I see ya”.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 pm. on Sunday, November 17 at Calvary Baptist Church, where she played piano for over 50 years. Funeral service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Clinton Union Hospital Guild or Calvary Baptist Church. Online condolences can be made at

Marilyn, Marla, and Marlene...I was thankful to receive the news of your mother's death. At 100 years old, she had a long, faith-filled, and fruitful life. I know you and your families will miss her, but have so many great memories. I would have joined you today, but with the bad weather coming in, we decided that wouldn't be prudent. We will pray for the happy repose of her soul and hope to see you all in the future. Love to all, LeslieEllen, Bob, Laura (Vinson), Christopher and Charlie
