Mildred “Millie” Jean Straw  of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2020 In Clinton, IN at the age of 75.
She was born in Gary, Indiana on October 6, 1944, to Marjorie (Snowberry) Russell and James Henry Russell.  She graduated from Tollestone High School in 1962 and moved to Clinton a few years later.  She met and married Donald Straw in November of 1969.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Susie Maesch and her brother John Russsell.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years; her sons, Tony (Tina) Becke, Eric (Robin) Straw, and Chris (Crissy) Straw; grandsons, Jacob Straw, Zach Shannon, Ryan and Nick Straw.  She also leaves behind her siblings, Judy Kish, Dorothy Russell, James “Hank” Russell,  Sam Russell, and Joe Russell.  Millie is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Millie was gifted with a wonderful sense of humor that was mixed with sarcasm and the ability to quote Seinfeld seamlessly during any occasion.  These traits and many others were passed down to her children, along with a laugh that was undeniable.  Millie had many good friends and important people in her life , but the best moments on Earth were spent with her family.  She was a blessed and humbled mother and Nana ,who enjoyed spending time with  her little cutie pies.  Millie will be missed as much as she was loved.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2020 from 10 am until 1 pm with funeral services at 1 pm.  Pastor Steve Vitaniemi  will officiate.  Cremation will follow.

Thinking of you all during this difficult time. I cherish all of the sweet and fun memories I had growing up with all of you. Millie was like a second mom to Pete and I, and Don a second dad. My heart aches for you all. Take care of each other and love you all.

I am very saddened to hear that my dear cousin "Millie" Straw has passed. One of my favorites along with all the Russells I remember from my childhood, when Hank, Joe, Susie and Dorothy would come and stay with us on 4th street, in Clinton. All were like my brothers and sisters back then and all the memories I have.
Millie, a kind person that I shall miss greatly. We always were close, even though our paths went different ways.

Used to work with Millie at Vermillion County Hospital. Whoever said she had a good sense of humor was right. And I loved her laugh! What a wonderful way to be remembered. ☝️❤💔

My thoughts and prayers to Don and your family. My heart also goes out to all of Millie’s brothers and sisters. Millie always had a smile that made you know that she cared about you, I think it was a gift she had that she gave freely. It was right that she was named after Aunt Red, they were both so special. We’re all better for having her in our lives.
