Harold R. “Riney” Rinehart, 80, of Clinton, died at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, at 1:12 AM, on August 1, 2020.  He was born January 29, 1940, in Clinton, to Ernie Rinehart and Lorene McDowell Rinehart.
He was a 1958 graduate of Clinton High School, where he played football, baseball, and ran track.  He was in the Army National Guard and had formerly coached youth football.  He was baptized at the Hillsdale Church.  He retired from Amax Kendall Coal Mine, after 31 years as a welder.  He was also a member of the Clinton Lion’s Club for over 50 years, where he was a past president.  Harold was a young boy, when he started Grey Hound dog racing, which continued for 75 years.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlotte, whom he married October 3, 1981; and one son, Ed Boatright.
He is survived by one son, Darren Rinehart and his fiancée, Carla Berrisford of Clinton; two daughters, Terri and Bill Wheat of Brownsburg and Cindy Spurr of Clinton; one brother, Carl Rinehart of Hillsdale; one sister, Francie and Milt Hobson of Coloma; 11 grandchildren, Brent Rinehart, Vince Tapley, Michael Taylor, Julie Jones, Misty Spurr, Gavin Wheat, Colin Wheat, Chloe Wheat, Olivia Wheat, Randy Boatright, and Wanda June “Furbaby”; six great-grandchildren, Gabriel Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Trinity Jones, Jeremiah Tapley, Miley Tapley, and Braxton Snodgrass; two lifelong friends, Ramon Colombo and Ferrucio Fornero; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday at Frist Funeral Home, with Lion’s Club Memorial Services to begin at 7:00.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, at Frist, with Celebrant Marta Adubato officiating.  Burial will be in Helt’s Prairie Cemetery.  Online condolences may be  made at www.fristfuneralhome.com.

Darren and Family,
Our deepest sympathy for the passing of Harold. I have many fond memories of him growing up at the races. He was one hell of a Field Trialer with many great dogs. May you all find peace and healing within each other and all the love and memories you had and will continue to have for Harold.
