Arthur “Art” Jones, 83,of Hillsdale, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at his residence.
He was born in Coxville, Indiana, on February 14, 1937, to Alonzo “Cappy” and Georgia Hartley Jones.
Art was a life long farmer and was also owner of Michaels-Jones Insurance Agency and was associated with it for 53 years.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lodge #99 F&AM Masonic Lodge;   Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute; Vermillion County Low 12 Club;  Rosedale American Legion.  He was a graduate of Hillsdale High School and attended Purdue University. He was a veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marvell “Mar” Jones; a sister, Martha Anderson; and a brother, Randy Jones.
Survivors include his companion, Lan Do of Terre Haute and a sister, Marsha Jones of Clinton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Frist Funeral Home.  Prior to the funeral service, military honors will be performed.  Masonic services will begin at 2 pm  and the funeral service will follow with Rev. Leon Myers officiating.  Burial will be at Helts Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to the Carmelite Monastery at 59 Allendale Terre Haute 47802

We were so sorry to read about Arthur's passing. Sorry we have lost touch with each other. Please accept our condolences. We have given a donation in his memory to the Carmelite Monastery.
