Frist Funeral Home
Annie Foncannon, 94, of Clinton, died July 17, 2022, in Vermillion Convalescent Center. She was born January 9, 1928, in Easytown, to Joe Giulino and Mary Morris Giulino.
She had previously been a bookkeeper for Stevenson’s Lumber and Spence Banks Oil Company.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and Delta Theta Tau (MAL). Her and her husband, Frank, were past Re and Regina’s, she was a past LIFT president, a member of the Clinton Lioness Club and a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club.
It’s difficult to sum up Annie’s 94 years of life, in three inches of tiny newsprint. Annie was a pint-sized ambassador. She was always standing up for the down and out. She spoke to the strangers, made small talk with the lonely, and befriended people from all walks of life (English and non-English speaking.) She was always giving hugs and never hesitated to ask for one in return. That’s just how she expressed her life. She always encouraged to “please go and enjoy your life.” Annie did.
She married Frank Foncannon on December 24, 1947, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, William Joseph Guilino.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Foncannon of Clinton and Gina and John Hurlow of Clinton; one grandson, Ross Hurlow; two nieces, Cindy Giulino and Debbie Swick; and one nephew, Randy Giulino.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM, at Frist Funeral Home. Services will begin at 8:00 PM, with Father Joby Puthussery and Marta Adubato officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.fristfuneralhome.com
