Barbara Ann (Shoemaker) Foltz, 90, Went to be with the Lord at 1:09 p.m. on Monday September 2, 2024. She passed at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved matriarch of her family. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special.
Barbara was born in Lyford, Indiana on June 17, 1934, to Chancie and Sylvia (Rudisill) Shoemaker. She met the love of her life Max L. Foltz at Fairview United Methodist Church. They were married there on October 31, 1953, and were married for 63 years. Barbara was a graduate of Clinton High School class of 1952. She opened Foltz Studio in 1975 and ran it until 1986 when it then became Smith Foltz Photography and remained open until 1996.
Barbara was a member of Town & Country Garden club; Senior Citizens Center and she attended Wayside United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Hospital Guild, Ladies with a Vision, Indiana Genealogy Society, and past president of Art Guild. She enjoyed many hobbies including painting, quilting, photography, and genealogy.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three sisters: Donna Bates, Patricia Wright, and Carol Shannon.
She is survived by her four children: Randy Foltz (Brenda) of Marietta, GA., Vickie Peperak (Bob) of Cayuga, IN., Cindi Pruett (Keith) of Clinton, IN., and Dirk Foltz (Anna) of Clinton, IN., eight grandchildren: Brandy Bonomo, Lindsay Brown (Becky), Joe Peperak (Carissa) all of Clinton, Paul Foltz (Angéle) of Indianapolis, Kristin Alexander (Jesse) of Marietta, GA., Alex Foltz (Jade) of St. Bernice, IN., Ben Foltz (Christa) of Norcross, GA., and Zach Foltz (Melissa) of Thornton, CO., and seven great-grandchildren: Taylor Bonomo (Jake) of Big Sky, MT., Gracie Brown, Bryce Peperak and Jayce Peperak all of Clinton, Alexia Foltz of St. Bernice, Marin Alexander of Marietta, GA., and Nora Foltz of Thornton, CO.
Visitation will be at Wayside United Methodist Church on Saturday September 7, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00p.m. Memorial service at 4:00p.m. with Pastor Terry Jeffers officiating. Cremation has been chosen.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wayside United Methodist Church or Heart to Heart Hospice in memory of Barbara.
