Barbara Turpen

Barbara Turpen, 88, of St. Bernice, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 10:15 am at Twin Lakes Rehab and Health Care in Paris, IL.

She was born in Oaktown, IN. on April 22, 1933, to Ernest and Gladys Campbell Skinner.

She retired from Union Hospital where she was a unit secretary.  She loved her Chicago Cubs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; her son, David; her daughter Deanna Fales; her grandson, Nathan McCrocklin; and 2 brothers, Bill and Carl Skinner.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Turpen of Terre Haute; her son, Randy Turpen of St. Bernice; grandchildren, Daniela Rogers, Sara Reynolds, Justin McCrocklin, Destiny McCrocklin, Jon Turpen, Allisha Staten, and Levi Gent; great-grandchildren, Braiden Rogers, Mallory Rogers, Kaitlyn Slaughter, Kaylon McCrocklin, Charlie Banks Reynolds, Coleton Reynolds, Gabe Turpen, Adeline Gasche, and Max Gasche; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Isla Slaughter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 4 pm  (CST) at the Sugar Grove Church in Chrisman, IL.  Pastor Bill Duke will officiate at the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Sugar Grove Church in memory of Barbara Turpen.
