Bertha Lodell Biddle Botner Crane, 92 passed away on Saturday November 16, 2024, at Union Hospital in Clinton.
Bertha, known as Beth to her friends, was born in Frankfort, Indiana on August 19, 1932, to her biological parents George W.T. Biddle and Goldie Kerfoot Biddle. She was raised by her foster parents, Christopher C., and Helen A. Luce Botner. She married David F. Crane on November 5, 1950, and they shared over 60 years together. Beth worked at Fenoglio’s Shoe Store, Clinton State Bank and Sam’s Club. Beth was quite the character.
She was a charter member of Wayside United Methodist Church in Clinton and was a member of the Wayside Choir and Eleanor Circle. Beth was also a lifetime member of the Union Hospital Clinton Guild, and Clinton Senior Center.
Those preceding Beth in death are her biological parents, foster parents, husband, great-grandson Coran Thomas Brown, three biological brothers, three biological sisters, two half-brothers, one stepbrother and one stepsister.
Surviving is her daughter Christi A. Chaney (Roy); sons Aaron B. Crane (Anita) and Evinn A. Crane; granddaughter Dana L. Brown (Travis); great-grandsons Taran C. Brown (Alli), and Rylan D. Brown (Ashlea), great-granddaughter Kadian L. Brown.
Honoring Beth’s wishes cremation was chosen. Visitation will be at Wayside United Methodist Church on Friday November 22, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00p.m. Service at 3:00p.m. with Pastor Terry Jeffers officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at Helt’s Prairie Cemetery in Hillsdale.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wayside United Methodist Church in memory of Beth.
