Betty Jo Hutson, 73, of Saint Bernice, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at her home.

She was born in Vermillion County, Indiana on December 14, 1951, to Billy Joe Capps and Gladys Priest Capps who precede her in death. Also, preceding Betty in death are her husband Phillip Hutson, daughter Misty Payton and brother Larry Capps.

Betty was a beautician for 36 years, while also bartending and managing the Saint Bernice Legion Post #108 along with Phil. She was also a member of the Saint Bernice Ladies Auxiliary Post #108.

Those left to remember Betty are her grandsons Damon Russell, Dalton Payton and Gage Payton, adopted grandson Holden Southard, sisters Rose Watson (Duane) and Judy Fellows (Bob) and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Garrett Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Chrisman, Illinois.
