Billy “Duke” Gene Curry, 81, of Shepardsville, died August 6, 2022. He was born February 21, 1941, in Shepardsville to Clyde and Mary Curry.
He married Evelyn Kay Stewart on July 14, 1962. They just celebrated their 60th anniversary. Duke served in the US Army from 1958-1965. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and France. He retired from Anaconda (Alcan Aluminum Products) in Terre Haute. He was a member of the American Legion Post #140, the VFW, the New Goshen Masonic Lodge, and the Vermillion County Low 12 Club.
Survivors include his wife, Kay, of Shepardsville; a sister, June and Benny Randolph; a daughter, Lori and Loyd Beasley, all of Shepardsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Beverly Stewart, of Shepardsville; four grandchildren, JR Beasley (Lindsay), Jessika White (Josh), Jamison Beasley, all of Shepardsville, and Trey Budd (Hailey), of Colorado; and seven great-grandchildren, Kyla Savant, Ryatt and Bryer Beasley, Aiden Lamb, all of Shepardsville, Blake Wager of Marshall, IL, and Parker and Quinn Bud, of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jack Curry; and one daughter, Marianne Curry Newlin.
Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 PM, on Wednesday, at Frist Funeral Home, with services to begin at 12:00, with Gary Burns officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery with military honors. Online condolences may be made at www.fristfuneralhome.com.)
