Carl Bridget, 91, of Paris, Illinois (formerly of Mecca, Indiana), passed away on Wednesday December 6, 2023.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1932, to the late Charles Bridget and Anna Awishes.

Carl married Ivy Smith Bridget on December 27, 1959, and she preceded him in death in 2005 after more than 45 years of marriage. He retired from Hercules and also served in the U.S. Air Force. He resided in Mecca for nearly 50 years where he was a devoted member of the community, serving the Town Board, Mecca Water Company, and the Mecca School House.

Carl was also preceded in death by his Daughter Carla Lilley, Grandson Cody Lilley, two brothers and four sisters.

Those surviving Carl includes his daughters Omi Bridget Gibbs of Paris, IL., and Connie Griffin of Kentucky, Son-in-Law Gary Lilley of Arkansas, grandchildren Jeremy Stowers (Amanda) of Clinton, Josh Stowers (April) of Martinsville, IL., and Jacque Tally (Zachary) of Marshall, IL., great-grandchildren Bridget, Cammie, Makhayla, Lucas, Kassidy, Zayden, and Karlee, several nieces and nephews, and special friend and companion Evelyn Robertson.

Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home on Saturday December 9, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:30am. Service at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
