Catherine L. Procarione, 68, of Clinton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

She was born on October 30, 1957, in Alanta, Georgia to the late Ernestine Johnson and Shelton Johsnon. After living in Atlanta, they moved to Miami for a few years and then settled in Lynn Haven, Florida outside of Panama City Beach. Catherine graduated from Mosley High School and went on to Baldwin Technical School. In 1994 she moved to Clinton, Indiana and in 1998 she married the love of her Life Chuck Procarione and raised her beautiful children. After arriving in Clinton, she got a position at Indiana State University in the office of the Controller where she worked continuously for 30 years retiring in December 2024. Catherine hired many students to work part-time in the office, some that being their first job ever. Catherine’s pride and joy were her children and her grandson. She loved them immeasurably and she will be greatly missed.

Catherine was an avid ham radio operator with the call W9IFE. She was the treasurer of the Wabash Valley Amateur Radio Association. Catherine and Chuck recently found a new hobby with Model A cars, going to several car shows and events last fall going to the Model A Ford Club of America Gilmore Car Museum in Michigan and she was a member of the Model A Ford Club of America.

Catherine is survived by her husband, Chuck Procarione of Clinton; sons, Michael Adam Wood of Panama City, FL., and Andrew “AJ” Procarione (Christina) of Clinton; daughters, Brandy Bibo (Aaron) of Gresham, OR, and Beth Tittle (Zachary) of Southport, IN., grandson, Vincent Tittle; sisters, Judy Fiordaliso (Joey) of Sacramento, CA., Sandra Brockway (Corey) of Lynn Haven, FL., and Patty Griffin (James) of Sunny Hills, FL., brothers, William “Bill” Johnson of Los Angeles, CA., and Eric Powell (Nyvia) of North Wilkesboro, NC., cherishes found family member Brandon Warner of Southport, IN., special Aunt Jean Bartlett of Panama City, FL., and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Service at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wabash Valley Amateur Radio Station or Dog It Dig It Rescue in memory of Catherine. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
