Charles R. “Chuck” Brewer, 89, of Clinton, died at 12:45 AM, on June 15, 2022, in Union Hospital Clinton. He was born April 29, 1933, in Center Point, Indiana to Austin Brewer and Ruby Mishler Brewer.
He was the former owner of the Wabash Valley Turkey Farm. He was a retired carpenter and part-time farmer. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran, 1951 graduate of Ashboro High School, was the pitcher for his high school baseball team, was a lifetime member of the VFW in Terre Haute, and a member of the Center Point United Methodist Church. He was also on the Helt’s Prairie Cemetery Board. On June 18, 1955, he married Betty McCullough, in Center Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Louise Sedam and Leona Ferry.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Brewer of Clinton; two sons, Steven R. and Karen Brewer of Clinton and Michael W. and Debbie Brewer of Brazil; grandchildren, Jason and Angie Brewer of Clinton, Robin and Patrick Cowen of Clinton, Amy and Jonathan Murray of Plainfield, and Austin and Morgan Brewer of Brazil; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Forrest and Shirley Brewer of Cloverdale; and a sister-n-law, Hazel McCullough of Cory.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00-2:00 PM at Frist Funeral Home. Military honors will be performed. Services will begin at 2:00, with Reverend Mark Weatherman officiating. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, at 11096 S 250 E Clinton, IN 47842 or the Helt’s Prairie Cemetery at 8575 S 275 E Hillsdale, IN 47854.
