Curtis Nestler, 78, of Fairview, passed away January 7th, 2022 at Union Hospital in Clinton. Curtis, "Ness", as most knew him, was a man with a giving heart, He was a mentor, surrogate father, and friend to man throughout his lifetime. Curtis was born May 4th, 1943 in Clinton, to Sam Nestler and Alma Elizabeth Hooker. He was a 1961 graduate of Clinton High School.
Curtis joined the US Navy in November of 1962, serving until December 1966 in the Vietnam War as an E5 electronics technician.
He was a founding member of Roman Wheels Car Club. Curtis worked as an independent auto mechanic, specializing in electrical issues. He was shop manager and salesman at Wolfe's Auto Supply for 15 years; later opening his own business, Nestler Auto Sales.
Curtis was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Gordon Nestler.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debra Lynne Marietta Nestler; son, Samuel (Rikki) Nestler; four grandchildren, Brady, Abrielle, Korey, and Gianna Nestler; five sisters, Sammi (Dan) Barker of Rockville, Gena (Tim) Caskey of Hillsdale, Toni (Ed) Inman of rural Clinton, Susie (Jim) Myers of Hazel Bluff, Cindy Boyd of Clinton; one brother, Scott (Debbie) Nestler of Fairview Park; two goddaughters, Holly Rae Roberts and Erica Worland, both of Sullivan; and special four-legged buddy, Gypsy.
Cremation was chosen. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Spangler Cemetery in Centenary. A Celebration of Life will follow graveside services at Faithbridge Church, HWY 36, Rockville, Indiana.
