Daisy E. Hoopingarner, 97 of Clinton passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday July 18, 2024.

She was born in Burnett, Indiana on January 14, 1927, to Roy McClara and Ellen (Lee) McClara who precede her in death. Also, preceding Daisy in death are her first husband Jesse Wood; second husband Everett Hoopingarner; four brothers; four sisters; and sons-in-law David Kendall and Eddie Mackey.

Daisy enjoyed sewing and crocheting, whether it was something for her family, friends or to donate to her church or to hospitals. Her family and her church were her life. Daisy attended Trinity Avenue Independent Baptist Church most of her adult life and she was a member of the Burnett Home Economics Club for 78 years.

Those left behind to remember Daisy are her daughters: Pamela Kendall of Rosedale, Connie Akers (Leonard) of Clinton, and Bonnie Mackey of Hillsdale; son Joseph Wood (Vicki) of Fremont, MO; grandchildren Sloan Kendall and fiancé Mike Glover, David Aaron Kendall (April), Lenny Akers, Dawn Watts, John Mackey (Vickie), Jeremy Mackey (Alisa), Jason Mackey (Tess), Logan Fiscus and fiancé April Vester, Kylee Mack (Clay), and Jessee Sanders (Kenny); fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Frist Funeral Home. Cremation has been chosen. There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
