Diana Martin passed away at 9:13 a.m. at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care on Saturday, March 14, 2026, under the care of Tracy Rippy and her amazing hospice care team. Diana’s parents were Don and Barbara Kuykendall. Her fraternal grandparents were Bert Kuykendall and Ruth (Daugherty) Halliwell. Her maternal grandparents were Jim and Lucille (Bildilli) Drengacs.

Diana is survived by her husband James Kevin Martin; daughter Ashlie Turchi; grandsons Colton Donald Himes, and Camden James Garza; mother Barbara Kuykendall; sisters Debbie Kuykendall and Dona (Brett) Gilman; nieces Lexy Gilman (Brent Rinehart), Livy Gilman (Matthew Panagouleas), and Lainy Gilman; uncle and aunt Dick and Sandra Trimble; cousins Mari (Trimble) Walker and Mike Briles, Zach Walker (Julieta), and Ryan Walker (Julia), Rich Trimble and his son John, Terry Tevlin, wife Beth and their children, Lauren, and Ryan; sisters-in-law Jill Russell (Scott), and Jean Dunning; extended family and special friends.

Diana was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, uncle and aunt Ralph and Helen (Kuykendall) Tevlin, father-in-law, James Allen Martin, & mother-in-law Jo Escritt.

Diana’s most prized possession was her family. She loved them fiercely and with all her heart. Having her family around and caring for them was most important to her. Diana was known for her class, style, panache, and sophistication. Her home was also always beautiful, displaying her impeccable taste.

She began her career as a cosmetologist. After completing her bachelor's degree Diana began her teaching career in consumer science at Rockville and South Vermillion High School. She completed her final year of teaching at Fountain Central.

Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home on Sunday March 22, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday March 23, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Service will be at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Jeffers and Reverend Mindy Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley/The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
