Obituary

Donald R. Smith, 79, of Clinton, passed away on Monday February 27, 2023, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

He was born in Bloomington, IL on March 13, 1943, to Walter Smith and Eileen Hay Smith.

Preceding Donald in death are his parents; four brothers; one sister and one son William Smith Sr.

Donald is survived by his wife Linda Smith of Clinton; sons Robert Smith of Terre Haute, and John Smith of Clinton; brothers Joe Smith (Gloria) of Peoria, IL., and Lee Smith (Karen) of Mackinaw, IL., and a sister Helen Newell (Don) of Tremont, IL. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Donald was a member of IUOE Local 841 in Terre Haute. He was a member of the Mackinaw, IL., Fire Department and he was Cub Scout Master for a few years.

Visitation will be held at Frist Funeral Home on Friday March 3, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Service at 12:00 PM with Rev. Keith McIntyre officiating.

Cremation has been chosen.
