Dorothy L. Jovanovich, 93, of Clinton passed away on Saturday June 22, 2024, at Clinton Gardens.

She was born in Rockville, Indiana on October 1, 1930, to Marvin Lawson and Ruth (Stokes) Lawson.

Those preceding Dorothy in death are her parents, first husband Richard Overpeck and second husband Joseph John Jovanovich, brothers Pete, Billy Joe and Earl “Jack” Lawson, sisters Virginia Crippin, Martha Jane McIntyre, and Barbara Burnell.

Dorothy was an avid reader and was a reading tutor at VanDuyn Elementary School, retiring in 1990. She loved her family, and nothing gave her greater pleasure than cooking for them.

She is survived by her sons Richard and David Jovanovich, daughters Penny Jovanovich and Laurie Bellegante all of Clinton, brother Leland “Skip” Lawson (Sandy) of Covington, IN, grandchildren Stacy Holliday (John), RJ Jovanovich (Kirstyn), Thane Jones, Brooke Swinford (Rich) and Brock Bellegante, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been chosen. There will be a private family burial on Monday July 1, 2024, at 2:00pm at Spangler Cemetery in Centenary.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Clinton Public Library in memory of Dorothy.
