With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Eleanor “Ellie” Dorothy Fellows, 64 of Mecca, Indiana. Born April 26, 1961, and affectionately know as Ellie; beloved wife and mother whose love and strength shaped the lives of those around her. Ellie passed away on March 19, 2026, leaving behind an irreplaceable presence and lifetime of cherished memories.
Ellie was the heart of her family. She gave love freely, cared deeply, and put others before herself in ways both seen and unseen. Her warmth, compassion, and steady presence brought comfort in difficult moments and joy in the simplest of times. To know Ellie was to feel cared for, understood and loved.
As a wife and mother, Ellie’s love was unwavering. She supported, guided, and stood strong through every season of life. Her words, her laughter, and her quiet understanding will live on in the hearts of her husband and children forever.
Ellie loved spending time with her grandchildren. She developed a special bond with John Fellows and Rebecca Edington. They all had a love that was unbreakable and they knew Mamaw would do anything for them and if she said “No” Papaw would typically say “Yes.”
Ellie Married the love of her life Joe on May 23, 1990, he survives her. Also surviving is her children, James Edington (Shannon) of Mecca, Joey Fellows of Mecca, JP Fellows (Diana) of Terre Haute, David Hill of Brazil, Justin Fellows (Summer) of Terre Haute; siblings, Peter H. Sills (Phyllis) of Kokomo, Michael H. Sills of Clinton, David W. Sills (Jerri) of Crawfordsville, Ann Alger (David) of Terre Haute, and Ronald D. Sills (Serina) of Terre Haute, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ellie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Margot Sills, and son Mathew Edington.
A celebration of life will be held at Wayside Methodist Church in Clinton on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the service at 3:00 p.m. There will be a dinner at the Mecca Fire House at 5:00 p.m. where family and friends will gather to remember, honor, and celebrate a woman who meant so much to so many.
Though Ellie is no longer with us in body, she will never leave our hearts. Her love remains, her lessons endure, and her spirit will always be part of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and endlessly loved.
