Elsie (Gus) Rebecca Prouse Eslinger, 74 of Clinton, IN., passed away on Wednesday October 4, 2023.

She was born in Terre Haute, IN., on September 3, 1949, to George Prouse and Minnie Thomas Prouse.

Gus was a feisty strong-willed child and only got feistier with age. She was a laborer at Zenith. She loved being outside (as long as it was super-hot), and going camping, watching scary movies and anything with Clint Eastwood in it. She loved to read and listen to music.

Gus was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donnie R. Eslinger Sr., siblings Norman Prouse, William (Bill) Prouse, Ronald and Donald Prouse, Carolyn (Sue) Thurman and Dorothy Dick.

She is survived by her three children David F. Eyre Sr. (Penny), Evon Miller (Bob), Donnie Eslinger Jr., ten grandchildren Charles (Chuck) Eyre, Shelby Kesterson, David Eyre Jr., Shannon Eyre, George Miller, Brianna Miller, Bryce Miller, Austin Eslinger, Dalton Eslinger, several great grandchildren, siblings David Prouse, Thomas Prouse, Christine Clark, and Kathy Dolan.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Frist Funeral Home. Per Elsie’s wishes there will be no service. Cremation has been chosen.
