James D Sykes

James D. Sykes, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday October 5, 2022.

He was born in Clinton on December 31, 1943, to Delbert Sykes and Violet Smith Sykes.

He was preceded in death by his parents Delbert and Violet, brother Dick Sykes and a niece Brenda Jasmin.

James is survived by his wife Sarah Deckard Sykes of Terre Haute, his daughter Heather Schrock (Brad) of Martinsville, IN., his sister Nancy Albin of New Jersey, sister-in-law Anne Sykes of Clinton, sister-in-law Carmen Walden of Cleveland, OH., brother-in-law Frank Deckard (Karen) of Terre Haute; his grandchildren Morgan and Jackson Schrock and several nieces and nephews.

James was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1962 and he and Sarah were married on August 23, 1969, in Terre Haute, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a former member of the Roman Wheels Car Club.

Visitation will be Frist Funeral Home Thursday October 13, 2022, from 4 - 8pm.

Cremation was chosen.
