Janie M. (Stepp) Vitaniemi

Janie M. Vitaniemi, of Rockville, IN. passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was born on October 5, 1946, in Paris, Illinois to Bill and Marie Stepp. She married Kenneth Vitaniemi on July 31, 1965, and they were married 58 years.

She is survived by her husband; children: Steve (Lisa) Vitaniemi of Thorntown, IN., Kevin (Sandi) Vitaniemi of Hillsdale, IN.; and Joyce Mack of Rockville, IN. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Jose) Serrano, Samantha Vitaniemi, Bailey (Jake) Bryant, Emily (Austin) Farrington, Kaci Mack, and Courtney Mack. Great Grandchildren: Spencer and Sophia Serrano, Tyler Farrington, and Baya Bryant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by, her parents and a sister, Joyce Karanovich.

Services will be held at Cayuga Christian Church on Wednesday November 1, 2023, with visitation from 10:00am until 12:00pm followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00pm. The church is located at 406 S. Logan St. Cayuga, IN. Burial will be at Helts Prairie Cemetery in Hillsdale, IN.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Cayuga Christian Church, Parke Vermillion Human Society or The American Kidney Foundation.
