John A. Lowry, 82, of Clinton passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his home.

He was born in Chrisman, Illinois on July 8, 1943, to John Lowry and Betty (Wheeler) Lowry.

Those preceding John in death is his parents, brother, Gary Wayne Lowry, and sister, Jerry Gordon.

John was a former member of The Isaak Walton League, Eagles Lodge #887, St. Bernice Legion Post #108, and Clinton Fire Department.

Surviving is his wife, Ruth (Rogers) Lowry of Clinton; son, Curt Lowry (Tami) of Clinton; daughter, Sheila Ashby (Freddie Walton) of Clinton; brother, Dick Lowry of Clinton; sister, Sharon Yates of Clinton; grandchildren, Justin Lowry (Brittany), Trenton Ashby (Haley), Brittni Ashby (Zac Eaker), Zack Naylor (Kierstin), Bailey Mosley (Jacob), and Noah Lowry; 11 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home Sunday May 31, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Graveside service and burial will be on Monday June 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. (EST/Indiana time) at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Chrisman, IL.
