Jon Leon Myers, of Clinton, Indiana passed away at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 12, 2024. He was born on January 14, 1940, to Ernest and Inez (Heber) Myers who precede him in death. Also, Preceding Leon in death are his sister-in-law Judy Myers and brothers-in-law Wilmus Adams and Charles Flory.
Leon graduated from St. Bernice High School and Indiana State Teacher College with a master’s in industrial arts. He was a teacher in California for 19 years before he returned to Indiana where he worked with his father in the Myers Cabinet Shop. He also completed the Pastor’s License School of the United Methodist Church and spent the last 25 years as the minister at Linebarger Chapel in Montezuma, Indiana.
Leon is survived by his wife of 51 years Lois (Stafford) Myers; his daughter Lynell McCracken (Joe) and granddaughter Amelia; brother Karl Willis “Willie” Myers; sister Orthanna Yager (Yale); sisters-in-law Betty Adams and Wilma Flory; two nephews, Douglas Myers and Ray Adams; five nieces: Melanie Yager, Kristy Bonomo, Beverly Adams, Yvonda Kramer and Andrea Gordon and many beloved cousins, close friends and his cherished congregation.
Visitation will be at Wayside United Methodist Church Thursday September 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Service will be at Wayside United Methodist Church on Friday September 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Terry Jeffers officiating. Burial will follow at Bono Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care at Terre Haute, Indiana.
