Joseph Ray Mackey “Joe”, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute after a brief illness.
He was born in Clinton on July 19, 1951, to Cecil and Eulalia Mackey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Eddie Mackey; 3 sisters, Mary Ann Machin, Virginia Maloney, and Cookie Mackey.  
Joe is survived by his wife, Marsha Mackey; a son, Justin (Kendra) Mackey; 2 daughters, Brittany (Holland Russell) Mackey and Tracy (Darren) Wood; grandchildren, Lara Mackey, Danielle Buckallew, Norah Mackey, Henry Mackey, Matthew Mackey, Shelby (Isaac) Wafzig, DJ Wood, and Kylee Wood (Connor Stout); a great-grandchild, Lyanna Wafzig; a sister, Margaret (Ronald) Milam; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Mackey;  and a brother-in-law, Bobby Maloney.
Joe was previously employed at Newport Army Ammunition Plant/Mason & Hanger-Silas Mason Co. and at AET Applied Extrusion Technologies. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Jerusalem #99.
He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, canning, hunting, birdwatching, grilling, spending time with friends and family, spoiling his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, traveling, and going on adventures with his wife.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10 am at Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Masonic Memorial services will be performed and the funeral service will follow with Celebrant Marta Adubato officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 19 from 3 to 6 pm at the Iron Skillet in Fairview.
