Leroy Eugene Kelsheimer Sr of Saint Bernice. “Gene” as he was most known by passed away peacefully at his residence on May 20,2022 at 1:05 pm, after a battle with cancer.
He was born December 19, 1939, to Thomas and Irene Kelsheimer. He never traveled far from where he was born but found this small part of the world full of things to do.
He was a welder for Midwest in Paris. Illinois until his retirement. He found much work outside Midwest in his lifetime. Gene worked for area farmers, local junkyards and finally retired again from Fountain Foundry, where he worked as a core maker. After retirement Gene worked in his garden, where he grew many fruits and vegetables. He also enjoyed Nascar, football, listening to good country music, and telling jokes over a Budlight.
He was preceded in death by both is parents, four sisters Mildred, Donna, Beverly, and Joleen. He was also preceded in death by three daughters, Jeanette Kelsheimer, Wendy Kelsheimer, and Tina Clutter.
He is survived by the love of his life Virginia Doran Kelsheimer and his children Leroy (Billie) Kelsheimer, Tom Kelsheimer, Darla Kelsheimer, Jennifer (Jerrad) Beckman, Jerry Presley, Jim Presley, Junior Presley, Belinda Boyd, Judy Kay Sankey, Debbie Iacoli, Melissa Morgan. Several nieces and nephews as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10am-12pm on Tuesday at Frist Funeral Home with services beginning at 12pm with Marta Adubato officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery
