Lola “Vandetta” (Kluesner) Stewart, 84, of Universal, IN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
Vandetta was born on July 11, 1937 to Joseph Kluesner and Emma “Adeline” Riley Kluesner.
She was married to the love of her life, Donald Wayne Stewart, for 65 ½ years until his death in April 2019. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ted Kluesner, brother-in-law, Chuck Walters, sister-in-law, Kathy Kluesner and son-in-law, Tom Boland.
She is survived by her seven children. Rebecca (John) Brown, Joe (April) Stewart, Gail (Tim) Voiles, Laurie Boland, Sherry (Mike) Wood, Mark (Beth) Stewart, Jeff (Donna) Stewart. She is also survived by five siblings, Carolyn (Al) Hughes, Frank Kluesner, Linda Walters, Shirley (Bill) Cain, Diana (Mark) Schumacher and many nieces and nephews. She was a proud Grandma to 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with a 10th great-grandchild soon to be born.
Vandetta proudly served as a United States Air Force wife for 20 years. She loved to sing, especially hymns. She was the choir director for many years at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Universal, IN. She & Don enjoyed bird watching from their front porch swing and both shared a joy for gardening and filled their yard with beautiful flowers for all to enjoy.
Vandetta was gentle, loving and kind. Her faith, her strength and her love of family were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Visitation will be Monday March 28,2022 from 4pm-8pm at Frist Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 am Tuesday March 29, 2022 at Frist Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Jeffers officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
