Patricia Marie Crowder Laymon, 74, of Dana passed away on Wednesday January 3, 2024, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice in Terre Haute.
She was born on September 27, 1949, to Samuel and Evelyn Murphy Crowder in Danville, Illinois.
Those preceding Pat in death are her parents, brother Ronald and her in-laws Donald and Mary Laymon.
Pat and her family moved to Dana, Indiana when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1967 and moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana where she worked several jobs. Pat moved back to Dana after her marriage to Darrell Laymon on August 9, 1969, and worked at Pawley Lumber Company, and she also worked for WIC (Women, Infant and Children) for 17 years. She retired and started staying home and enjoying her precious great-grandchildren. Pat enjoyed bowling and reading until health problems stopped her, visiting friends who came by to play cards: Mary Ellen Jackson, Jeanie Kelsheimer, Linda, and a few others that would play occasionally. Pat was a member of Dana Baptist Church.
We would like to offer a special thank you to Cynthia and Phil Myer for all the trips to the doctor’s office and for helping at the house. You will never find a better couple – Thank You.
Pat is survived by her husband Darrell Laymon, son Jason Laymon, sister Deborah (Jeff) Lang of Dana, granddaughter Danielle Williams and her husband of Dana, grandsons Dakota Laymon and his Fiancé Cami Smith from Fort Wayne, Jaxson and Jersey Dean of Terre Haute, great-grandchildren Olivia Roseberry, Cameron Roseberry, OakLeigh Williams, Kyndall Williams, Kyrin Williams, Llewellyn Laymon, and one on the way, sisters-in-law Sandra Frink of St. Bernice, and Darlene Mitchel of Lafayette, special family member Beth Lindsey. Also surviving are several cousins in both the Crowder and Murphy families.
Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home on Saturday January 13, 2024, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Service will be at 2:00pm with Pastor Marc Loveland officiating. Burial will follow at Bono Cemetery.
