Patricia "Patty" Ann (Hopkins) Alabaugh Obituary

Patricia “Patty” Ann Alabaugh, 82, of Clinton passed away on Wednesday June 12, 2024, at her home after a battle with Leukemia.  She was born July 29, 1941, in St. Bernice, Indiana, to Harry Hopkins and Sadie (Murphy) Hopkins.

Patty is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul “Frank” Alabaugh; sons Paul Alabaugh (Colleen) and John Alabaugh (Dana); daughter Sandra Vitaniemi (Kevin); sister Barbara Krabbe; grandchildren Kaly Wolfe (Derek), Samantha Vitaniemi (Heath), Ryan Alabaugh (Arin), Emily Farrington (Austin), Spencer Alabaugh (Robin), Sydney Lenz (Griffin), Brandon Kelsheimer, Tyler Kelsheimer (Courtney), Emily Kelsheimer; great-grandchildren Westin, Wyatt, Arrin, Lucy, Trey, Gabe, Grayson, Tyler and Luca; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Those preceding Patricia in death are her parents; brothers Ralph, George and Max; sisters Ruth Amerman and Mary Kyle.

Patricia was a graduate of St. Bernice High School Class of 1959 where she graduated 2nd in her class. She and Frank were married in Clinton on April 29, 1961. Patricia was a homemaker until her children were raised.  She then went to work as a teller at Fifth Third Bank where she retired. She attended Cayuga Christian Church, two Red Hat Societies, and Wakofe Club.  Patty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cared deeply for her family and will be greatly missed.  She loved crocheting baby blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cooking for her family on holidays. 

Cremation has been chosen. There will be a graveside service on Friday June 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. (EST/Indiana time) at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Chrisman, Illinois, which anyone can attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s name to Cayuga Christian Church.
