Paul C. Capps Jr., 78, died on Friday July 3rd, 2026, in his residence surrounded by his beloved family.  Paul was born on April 8, 1948, in Asheville, NC to Paul Capps Sr. And Viola Jean Capps, who later remarried Frank Clawson in 1964.

Paul was a retired owner/operator of Figment Trucking that he ran with his beloved wife. He was a member of the Friendly Grove Church, OOIDA and he volunteered with the Men of Action along with other members of the church. He was very proud of the work the group accomplished helping build orphanages in Mexico.  Paul was always known to be a jokester, always had a story to tell and never met a stranger.

Paul is survived by his wife Janice Lohse Capps of 53 years, whom he married on July 18th, 1972, in Lyford IN.  He is also survived by their four children: Paul C. Capps, III, Lyford, IN, Frank C. Capps, Asheville, NC, Kyle D. Capps, Terre Haute, IN and Amelia J. C. Shouse (Joe) of Lyford, IN as well as his grandsons Justin Shouse, Jace Shouse and Ethan Craffets, brothers-in-law,  Bill (Irma) Lohse of Clinton, Dennis(Karen) Lohse of Clinton, John Lohse of Clinton, Clark(Carol) Lohse of Clinton, Dan Lohse of Lyford and sister-in-law Tammy Lohse of MA as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, his sister Sandra Clawson, his in-laws Bill and Claudette Lohse, and brother-in-law Fredrick Lohse.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 8th at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton, IN from 2:00-4:00pm.  Services will begin at 4:00pm with Reverend Perry Mager officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s charity of your choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.fristfuneralhome.com
