Preston E. Gene Pender, 85, of Centenary, died May 30, 2022, in Signature Healthcare Center.  He was born March 30, 1937, in Fairview to Laverne Pender and Gertrude Davis Pender.

He had been a tree trimmer for 35 years.  He was a former member of Blanford Sportsman’s Club.  He married Julia Bertolino Pender, on July 27, 1957, in Clinton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mike Pender; and two sisters, Ruth Price and Elaine Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Bertolino Pender; one son, Ronald and Suzie Pender of Paris, IL; one daughter, Debra Jo DiVincenzo and her husband John of Indianapolis; one brother, Ray Pender of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Katrina, Samanta, Julia, and Tony; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life held July 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM EST, at the Sugar Grove Methodist Church, with Bill Duke officiating.  Online condolences may be made at www.fristfuneralhome.com.
