Samuel M. Thomas, 83, of Clinton, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Union Hospital in Clinton.

He was born in Robinson, Illinois on December 31, 1940, to Charlie and Mary Thomas.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, son Joe Thomas, granddaughter Kaitlynn Thomas and several brother and sisters.

Sam was a coalminer working at Ziegler Coal Mine and Green Valley and was a member of the United Mine Workers Association.

Survivors include his sons Jerry Thomas (Mona) and Tim Thomas (April); sister Fern Smith; grandchildren Justin, Christina, Sammy, and Daniel, and great- grandchildren Bryleigh, Melody, Amera, Fenix, Vaeda, Timothy, Allison and Thomas.

Visitation will be at Frist Funeral Home Saturday December 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
