Shirley Overpeck, 71, of Dana, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, surrounded by family.
Shirley was born to Jack Griffin, Sr., and Mary Ward Griffin on July 2, 1950 in Terre Haute.
She was a member of Dana First Baptist Church, and was retired from working for Child Services for the State of Indiana. Shirley was a 1968 graduate of Clinton High School.
Shirley is preceded in death by both parents; by loving husband, Michael James, of 46 years.
She is survived by her children, Valerie (Matt) Crouch of Clinton, Darrin (Jennifer) Overpeck of Dana; brother, Jack Griffin, Jr. of Clinton; sisters, Sandra Gilbert of Terre Haute, Carol Thomas of Seelyville; grandchildren, Kayla (James) Benson, Karlie (Seth) Dickey, Kloe Crouch, Kallie Crouch, Shelby Overpeck, Jaxson Overpeck; one great-grandchild, Avery Benson; two nephews, Kelcey Overpeck, Trey Thomas; two nieces, Brooke (Brad) Feaster, Gayle Norman; two great-nieces, and several cousins.
Visitation for Shirley will be held from 4pm to 7pm, Monday, January 3, 2022, at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton. Services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, also at the funeral home, Marc Loveland officiating. Burial at Bono Cemetery will directly follow.
