Susan Diane Scott, 67, of Terre Haute, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Friday July 26, 2024, at IU University Hospital. She was born September 2, 1956, in Rensselaer Indiana to Andrew and Ruth Studer.

She had a passion for traveling, always seeking new adventures and taking the path less traveled. She enjoyed watching the eagles along the Wabash River as she loved being surrounded by nature. Her love for photography allowed her to capture the beauty of the world around her, creating lasting memories for herself and her loved ones.

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family, their pets, close friends, and her boyfriend Frank. She especially loved hanging out with her grandson Sidney.

She graduated from North Newton High School in 1974. She attended Indiana State University, in a testament to her dedication and passion for learning she completed her bachelor’s degree of science in four years while balancing the demands of a job and raising a family. She worked at Alcan in the early to mid-1980’s. She retired from Sony DADC in 2018 after 33 years.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Arthur Studer Jr. She is survived by her mother, Agnes Ruth Sorensen; her children, James Fox III, Tabbitha Gilman, and Samantha Scott; her siblings, Amy, Andrew, Janice, and John; her grandchildren; and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

A celebration of Susan's life will be held on September 2, 2024, at the Terre Haute Hungarian Hall 2049 N. 22nd St., Terre Haute, IN 47804 from 2-5 PM EST time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Terre Haute Humane Society thhs.org and or Parke-Vermillion County Humane Society, mypvchs.org  or the Exotic Feline Rescue in Center Point Indiana efrc.org/donate. Donations to the Hungarian Hall are also greatly appreciated as she was an active member. In honor of Susan's generous spirit and love for helping others, she would also like us to Remember to Recycle.

Though her loss has caused great grief, she will be forever remembered for her quirkiness, caring spirit, and selflessness. She would not want us to linger in sadness for too long as she tried to enjoy life every day. Her legacy of love, joy, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
