Thomas A. Auterson, 64, of Clinton passed away on Monday February 6, 2023, at his home.

He was born in West Terre Haute to Tom “Sonny” Auterson and Erma Collins Auterson.

He was preceded in death by his son Travis Auterson, uncle John McCarty, sisters-in-law Diana Auterson and Robin Gosnell, brothers-in-law Mike Rayburn and Jeff Gosnell, nephew Michael Rayburn and his mother-in-law Joan Jones.

Tom is survived by his wife Debbie Gosnell Auterson of Clinton, parents Tom and Erma Auterson of West Terre Haute, sons Brandon McGuire (Carrie) of California and Jason Gosnell of Terre Haute, brothers Dale Auterson (Beth) of Texas and Rick Auterson of Wisconsin; grandchildren MaKayla Bender, Jason Lee Gosnell Jr. and Breanna McGuire, great grandson Dominic, aunt Charlotte McCarty, uncle Ronnie Auterson (Verna), sister-in-law Lesann Rayburn, several nieces and nephews and his dog Rascal.

Tom was a mechanic by trade and there was not anything he could not fix. He was always working on something, he didn’t know a stranger and would help anybody with anything, he enjoyed talking to the guys in NAPA, pulling pranks on friends, supervising his grandchildren and their friends riding the go-cart, shooting fireworks with the neighbors, but more than anything he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing with his best pal Rascal.

Per Tom’s wishes cremation was chosen and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
