Veda Yowell, 90, of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at IU West Hospital in Avon, surrounded by her loving family.
Veda was born in Parke County on August 30, 1931, to Harry and Angeline Ladiha Crossley. She married her husband, Fred, on July 22, 1949, and together, they raised three daughters.
She was one of the first to attend Victory Baptist Church in Clinton. She formerly sold Avon, worked for Columbia Enameling and Wiemuth & Son, was a CHS graduate, and a member of Lyford Bible Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents; by her husband, Fred Yowell Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Hale, Colleen McClam, Mary Strole, Freda Crawford.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Jim) Shull of Clinton, Linda (Michael) Peperak of Clinton, Kathy (Fred) Reynolds of Clinton; brothers, Frank Crossley of Clinton, Harry “Butch” and (Sue) Crossley of Clinton; grandchildren, Alyson (Andrew) Atlas, Mike (Heather) Peperak, Jamie (Daric) Moenter, Jared (Ashley) Shull, Angela (Le) Tien, April (Jonathan) LaRosa; great-grandchildren, Connor, Brady, Lauren, Raelynn, Emmerson, Grayson, Hadley, Blake, Maren, Alexa, Eli, and Ava.
Visitation for Veda will be from 12pm to 3pm, Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will begin at 3pm with burial at Walnut Grove following services.
The family requests that masks be worn. Masks will be provided.
