Waunitia Baratto Obituary

Waunitia Mae Baratto, 92, of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Majestic Care Deming Park of Terre Haute, IN.

She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on January 10, 1931, to Louis Wallace and Jeanette Wallace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Remo, daughter Melinda Mrdja and granddaughter Melinda Baratto.

Waunitia is survived by sons Raymond Baratto (Carolyn) of Center Point and Joe Mrdja of Clinton, grandchildren Regina Tucker (Kyle), Cheri Xeros (Nick), Joe Mrdja Jr. (Jerica) and Jennifer Finley (Greg) and 9 great grandchildren.

Waunitia was Co-owner of Baratto’s Salami House for several years. Waunitia was very active in the Frist Christian Church teaching Sunday School and serving as Deaconess. She was a member of the Blanford Royal Neighbors. She loved to cook and host family dinners.  Waunitia loved her family dearly. The family would like to thank Majestic Care and Southern Care Hospice for their care and kindness.

Visitation is at Frist Funeral Home on Monday February 27, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Service at 12:00 with Rev. Larry Kelsheimer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
