Wayne C. Farrington

Wayne C. Farrington, 91, of Terre Haute passed away on Monday July 1, 2024, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

He was born in Clinton, Indiana on March 18, 1933, to George Farrington and Mildred Dickenson Farrington who precede him in death. Also, preceding Wayne in death are two brothers, Richard, and Don Farrington: one sister, Mary Reed and a grandson, Josh Harden.

Wayne was a Clinton High School graduate Class of 1951 and continued his education at Indiana State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. During his career he was a quality control director. He retired from Meco, Inc. in Paris, Illinois, and Hughes Aircraft Company in California. He loved travel and traveled extensively throughout Europe for both business and pleasure. Wayne loved golf and was a longtime member of the Clinton Golf Association and over his lifetime he had at least six hole-in-ones. He also loved music and a good bottle of scotch.

Survivors include his wife Clara Ondo Farrington of Terre Haute; two daughters, Kathy Harden (Mark) of Georgetown, Texas and Lori Key (John) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; three sisters, Rose Ann Toulson of California, Freida Rutan (Chet) of Hillsdale, Indiana and Marjorie “Marj”  Rife of Terre Haute, Indiana; sister-in-law Lil Farrington of Hillsdale, Indiana; grandchildren Austin Sisson and Abbi Sisson, Matt Key (Gretchen) and Carley Chestnut (Clint); great-grandchildren Ledger Dossett and Millie and Palmer Chestnut.

There will be a private family service at the Walnut Grove Cemetery Chapel on Friday July 5, 2024, with Pastor Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow.
